Happy Inktober, fountain pen friends! October is upon us and with it comes the Inktober challenge. A concept created by artist Jake Parker, it is a challenge to draw 31 pen and ink drawings (one per day) throughout the month of October. If you are looking for a new way to use your fountain pens and ink, this is a great community to be a part of and a fun challenge to participate in!
Since October is the month of Halloween, people tend to get in a festive mood with their contributions. Our photographers, Whitney and Sarah, created some examples to inspire you and awaken your inky imagination!
The rules for entry are simple. Just follow these instructions:

Jake has provided participants with an exciting list of prompts. In the past, a lot of the drawings have had a Halloween flair (because, October) but it is by no means required. As you can see, the prompts are thought provoking yet purposefully vague.
If you will be participating, make sure to use the #inktober hashtag so other enthusiastic pen and ink artists will be able to find your work.
If you need tips on how to draw with fountain pens, artist Liz Steel has an amazing blog series on just that.
