Fall Preview: Visconti Pininfarina Iridium and Divina Metropolitan

Hey fountain pen fans! We have the scoop on two new pens from Visconti coming this fall, so we'd like to give you a little sneak peek at what's coming to Goulet Pens. Get ready to drool....

Visconti Pininfarina Iridium
Following the enormously successful CarbonGraphite and Nanotech editions, Visconti has once again teamed together with one of the world's most renowned designers – Pininfarina, to introduce the new spectacular Iridium limited edition! Pininfarina are famous above all for designing cars such as Ferrari and Maserati and Visconti’s latest edition not only pays homage to their thirst for ground-breaking design and style but also technological advance.

The new Iridium pen compromises the same pioneering, innovative features as the original editions: such as the rotating nib extraction mechanism and airtight nib enclosure but adding third millennial technology, Avional Iridium coating. The result is breathtaking! A full spectrum of color is on display as the pen is rotated. Visconti has created a metal with an ever changing rainbow of color and a material that is so strong that is resistant to scratches and perfect for everyday writing use!

The pen is equipped with innovative technical solutions that emphasize its style. These include the rotating nib extraction mechanism, which made it possible to eliminate the cap, and the mechanism incorporated in the clip. Other important innovations are the airtight system that opens and closes automatically, the chromium 18 Smartouch tubular nib and the material chosen, Avonial iridium, which gives the pen a perfect weight and feel. All trims are accented in black PVD-plated titanium to add further contrast.

Great attention was paid also to the case, which echoes the pen's retractable mechanism - that is, in turn, a display case which not only holds the fountain pen, but also has all the makings of a fully-fledged work of modern sculpture.

This limited edition pen, numbered out of 388 worldwide, is expected to be available in late September. It is available in extra-fine, fine, medium, and broad. The MSRP on the Pininfarina Iridium is $1895, however you may log into your gouletpens.com account to see our best price.

We've had our eye on the Divina for quite some time. With the introduction of the new Divina Metropolitan collection, we couldn't resist any longer.

The Visconti Divina Metropolitan takes inspiration from Visconti’s iconic collection ‘Divine Proportion’, drawing on the art and science of the Renaissance period. The Metropolitan features the same classic shape and characteristics of the Divina: The ratio of the pen body and cap are measured in accordance with the golden ratio, 1.618. The pen integrates the Nautilus or ‘Golden spiral’ through the pen with spiraling sold 925 sterling silver rods, which are hand inserted into each pen. No matter how you cap it, it aligns perfectly.

But this time Visconti has enriched the pen with their timeless ‘Wall Street’ celluloid. Available in either pearl grey or pearl green colors, the celluloid’s reflective nature is reminiscent of the illuminating Manhattan skyline in New York.
The Divina Metropolitan isn't a numbered collection, but will only be produced for a limited time. This midi-sized pen features Visconti's pull-and-turn piston, the hook safe lock capping system, and uses the smaller 23kt palladium nib.
The MSRP on the Divina Metropolitan is $995, however you may log into your gouletpens.com account to see our best price. Coming in late September or early October!
